Nikon 85mm F/1.8G review
TweetNikon has accompanied the launch of the all-new D4 with a new fast-aperture lens – the AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8G.
The lens offers photographers ‘an affordable way to take advantage of Nikon’s rich legacy of renowned 85mm NIKKOR optics’, according to Nikon, and will no doubt grab the interest of Nikon users with an eye for portrait photography.
The 85mm f/1,8G utilises an all-new optical design which is comprised of nine elements in nine groups, as well as a dedicated Silent Wave Motor for discreet but accurate autofocus.
The weather-sealed Nikkor 85mm f/1.8 G weighs in at just 350 grams, making it the lightest lens of its kind
ever produced by Nikon, and is compatible with Nikon FX and DX format DSLRs, and it is supplied with both Nikon’s HB-62 lens hood and CL-1015 soft pouch as standard.
The Nikon NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8G is due to hit the shelves on 22nd March this year with an RRP of $499.99.
